A major exhibition of works by the Scottish Colourist painter Leslie Hunter, covering his life in San Francisco, Scotland, France and Italy, will go on show at The Fleming Collection at 13 Berkeley Street, London W1 from 23 October 2012 to 9 February 2013. Over 70 pictures, two-thirds of which are from private collections, will be exhibited at The Fleming Collection, which has become an embassy for Scottish art in London, in the show entitled Leslie Hunter: A Life in Colour. The exhibition is sponsored by Lyon & Turnbull, Scotland’s oldest firm of auctioneers.

A major survey exhibition of four decades of work by Jock McFadyen, the Scottishborn, East London-based painter, who in recent years has concentrated on powerful urban landscapes, is to be be held at The Fleming Collection at 13 Berkeley Street, London W1 from 17 July to 17 October 2012. The show’s title Made in Hackney reflects the fact that many of the pictures were painted in McFadyen’s studio in London Fields, Hackney regardless of whether they portray scenes in London, France or Scotland. “Most people think that the artist has to be there but any large painting by any artist must be done in a studio,” says McFadyen.

The painter Wilhelmina Barns-Graham is usually classified as a St Ives School artist yet her Scottish roots and her continuing close links with her homeland had a huge influence on her work. A major exhibition marking the centenary of her birth will be held at The Fleming Collection at 13 Berkeley Street, London W1 from 10 January to 5 April 2012.

Will Maclean: A Survey Exhibition 1970-2010

An important retrospective exhibition of works by the renowned Scottish artist Will Maclean is to be held at The Fleming Collection, 13 Berkeley Street, London W1 from 8 March to 4 June 2011. The show, entitled Will Maclean: A Survey Exhibition 1970-2010, will include loans from public and private collections as well as works from The Fleming Collection’s own holdings. It will coincide with the publication of a new book Will Maclean: Collected Works 1970-2010 by The Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation, the charity which runs The Fleming Collection.

A major exhibition of works from the Glenfiddich Artists in Residence programme, which has established a reputation for producing radical contemporary art in the normally traditional surroundings of the Scotch whisky industry, is to be held outside Scotland for the first time. Reflecting Glenfiddich, A Selection of Works from the Glenfiddich Artists in Residence Collection will be shown at The Fleming Collection, 13 Berkeley Street, London W1 from 25 January to 26 February 2011.
