The projects in the exhibition Frank O. Gehry since 1997 will be displayed in the form of large, detailed studies and competition models from the Gehry Partners archive. Original drawings by the architect and a multitude of developmental models will offer visitors detailed and readily comprehensible insights into the design process.

Under the title “Onomatopoeia”, the Kunstverein Hannover proudly presents the latest works by Scottish artist Charles Avery (born 1973), who has devoted himself exclusively to the creation of a fictional island archipelago since 2004. In detailed, large-scale drawings, installations, sculptures and objects, Avery forms a bizarre imaginary reality out of diverse philosophical ideas and concepts: Fabulous creatures, deities, tourists and adventurers are embedded in a complex social structure, merging into an entire cosmos that ranges between pure fantasy and theoretical reflection.

By connecting separate spheres she often plays off gender differences against each other: Soft, feminine bodies counter the masculine geometry of Stacks by Donald Judd. In advertising slogans for cosmetics she discovers an aesthetic relationship with the text pieces of Joseph Kosuth.

euward 2010 (euward5)

euward is the european art award for painting and graphic arts by artists with a mental disability. It is the first, and so far the only, prize of international status to be awarded in this sphere of art. euward has been presented by the Augustinum Foundation (Munich) since 2000 and, with the support of the Evangelische Kreditgenossenschaft eG and Sanitas Versicherungs- und Wirtschaftsdienst GmbH, will be presented for the fifth time in 2010. The patron is Emilia Müller, the Bavarian State Minister for European Affairs.
