The Garden of Eden: The 20th Anniversary of Art Blooms
The Garden of Eden: The 20th Anniversary of Art Blooms – march 5-8
Art Blooms complements the museum’s current special exhibition The Saint John’s Bible: A Modern Vision through Medieval Methods
The Women’s Committee of the Walters Art Museum will host The Garden of Eden: The 20th Anniversary of Art Blooms, Thursday, March 5–Sunday, March 8, 2009. During this annual event, more than 30 area garden clubs will present their floral arrangements, which interpret artworks in the Medieval and Renaissance galleries of the Walters.
This springtime event will complement the Walters’ special exhibition, The Saint John’s Bible: A Modern Vision through Medieval Methods, on view February 15–May 24, 2009. The Women’s Committee is the lead sponsor of this exhibition. In keeping with the Eden theme, this year’s Art Blooms will feature “Garden Party” vignettes in the Walters’ Sculpture Court throughout the weekend. Noted local designers will create romantic settings such as “An Afternoon in the Country” and “A Sophisticated Respite.” Other Art Blooms programs include a preview party, gallery tours, floral design demonstrations and lectures with premier floral designer Ron Morgan and top garden designer Tovah Martin.
Support for The Garden of Eden: The 20th Anniversary of Art Blooms is provided by Merrill Lynch, Global Wealth Management Group, Alex Cooper Auctioneers, Legg Mason, WYPR 88.1 FM and Clavert Wholesale Florist.
