Venice: press conference “Surrealism and Magic: Enchanted Modernity”

On Thursday the 7th of April I was in Venice, at the news conference of the new Peggy Guggenheim‘s exhibition “Surrealism and Magic: Enchanted Modernity.

The conference was held on the panoramic terrace, so I had the opportunity to see all of Venice and its lagoon from this fantastic place which is open only on special occasions.

During the meeting Karole Vail (director of the Peggy Guggenheim museum) and Ortrud Westheider (director of Barberini museum in Potsdam) intervened.
At the end I could hear the explanation of the exhibition made by the curator herself, Gražina Subelytė.
While visiting the exhibition, Gražina was also available to answer questions and to explain the paintings.
I really suggest visiting “Surrealism and Magic” not only because the location and the paintings are very important, but also because the topic it deals with can give food for thought about our current situation.
