Chianti Star Festival Award Winner 2015: Sumio Inoue

The jury chaired by Roberto Casalbuoni has awarded the Chianti Star Festival 2015 prize to Sumio Inoue, the Japanese photographer known for his series “Silenzioso”: shots of monuments and cities, printed on handmade rice paper. With an elaborate process that takes several weeks, the black and white images are absorbed by the rice paper and produce an infinite gradation of nuances and shadows. Sumio Inoue’s works, which always stimulate the viewer’s imagination, can be admired worldwide.
The 2015 edition of the Festival closed successfully with a large number of visitors recorded and many positive comments about all the participating artists: William Braemer, David Harry, Sumio Inoue, Fiorella Noci, Sara Palleria, Marco Aurelio Rey, Edward Rilke, Max Werner.
The jury, chaired by Roberto Casalbuoni, is composed of Anchise Tempestini, art historian, Giada Rodani, contemporary art exhibition curator, Gabriele Rizza, journalist, expert of cinema and theatre, Luigi Dei, professor of Chemistry, President of OpenLab, Dean of the University of Florence, David Baroncelli, Mayor of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Massimo Ricci, architect, Member of the Central Forum UNESCO.
The third edition of the Chianti Star Festival took place from 13 June –21 July 2015 in the world-famous Chianti region of Tuscany.
